One person was killed and five others injured Thursday as gunfire rang out at the Mall of Louisiana in Baton Rouge when an argument between two groups of people in the food court escalated into violence, police said.

Gov. Jeff Landry is holding a news conference with Louisiana State Police and Baton Rouge Police to update the public on the investigation into the Mall of Louisiana shooting at 1 p.m. Friday. The event will be held at the Baton Rouge Police headquarters on Airline Highway.
